Speed Through Immigration — Automated Entry System Registration
How to register for the automated immigration gates and pass in under 2 minutes.
Korea's Smart Entry Service (SES) lets registered travellers pass through automated gates at immigration — bypassing the manual officer queue. At busy times, manual queues can stretch 60+ minutes; the automated lane takes under 2.
Who Can Register?
Korean nationals
Age 7 and above. Register at any Smart Entry Service enrollment kiosk at the airport.
Foreign nationals with re-entry permit
Long-term residents (F-4, F-5, D-10, etc.) holding a valid re-entry permit can apply. Register at the immigration offices inside the airport.
How to Register
- Locate the Smart Entry Service enrollment kiosk (1F arrivals hall, before immigration).
- Scan your passport.
- Scan all 10 fingerprints.
- Registration is instant — no appointment needed. Valid until passport expiry.
Note: The Smart Entry Service is operated by the Ministry of Justice and is separate from SmartPass (which is an Incheon Airport departure service). Do not confuse the two.
Korea's automated immigration (Smart Entry Service) uses fingerprint biometrics to verify identity at the gate — no officer queue needed. Enrollment takes about 5 minutes and is free.
