Baggage Claim at Incheon Airport — And What to Do If Your Bag Is Lost
How to find your baggage belt, and the exact steps when a bag is damaged or missing.
Baggage claim is on the 1F arrivals hall after clearing immigration and customs. Screens above the belt area show your flight number and assigned belt number.
Finding Your Belt
1. Follow the 'Baggage Claim' signs after immigration.
2. Check the flight information display — your belt number is listed next to your flight.
3. Wait at the assigned belt. Bags usually start appearing 10–20 minutes after landing.
If Your Bag Is Missing or Damaged
Missing Bag
Go immediately to the airline's baggage service counter (located in the arrivals hall near the belt area). File a PIR (Property Irregularity Report). You'll need your baggage tag and boarding pass.
Damaged Bag
Report damage before leaving the airport. Photograph the damage. The airline will offer repair, replacement, or compensation. Claims filed after leaving the airport are harder to process.
Tip: Keep your baggage receipt (tag stub) safe until you collect your bag. It's essential for any claim.
